Position Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer role has primary responsibility for designing and development of storage and backup-based solutions.  Other desirable skills surround the Microsoft Windows Server OS and VMWare platforms in our enterprise environments along with other infrastructure solutions. General duties include defining standards for the organization.  Driving and establishing monitoring\tuning, capacity planning, lifecycle upgrades, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, standardization, continuous improvement, and assisting in the long-term strategic planning for the environment.  Partners with management and other engineers to provide technical support using their background to take on complex level work assignments the team is engaged in. Mentors Advanced Engineers in support of the environment. Strong people skills and the ability to balance a large workload are essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Proactively design and deploy storage and backup-based solutions within in the environment
  • Participate in planning /execution the 2026 technology refresh  
  • Participate in initiatives to assimilate new bank acquisitions to the enterprise storage and backup technology  
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
  • Effectively manage small to large projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Support the definition and development of documentation, procedures, and standards for Storage and Backup environments
  • Participates in the on-call production support rotation and may occasionally be required to work hours outside of the traditional work schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Preferred Certifications: HPE ASE – Storage Solutions; HPE2-K43; Pure Certified FlashArray-Storage Professional; Cohesity Protection Professional Certification
  • Mid-Level Skills: VMware vSphere storage administration; data protection, disaster recovery, and cyber recovery; PowerShell scripting; Pure Storage FlashArray//X70 R4; provision, manage, and patch enterprise SAN & NAS storage; Cohesity NAS; Cohesity backup
  • Advanced level skills: Design & support enterprise SAN, NAS, and backup products; Large scale NAS migration; Manage NAS permission; capacity planning, performance tuning, and lifecycle management; storage protocols knowledge including: ISCSI, NASS, & NFS

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $98,000.00 - $132,000.00, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
