Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

 

Position Overview

The incumbent reports to the Director Health Services - Allied Health and is responsible for providing clerical support to the Manager(s) Health Services, including processing job postings and related paperwork, maintaining position control, registering new hires in orientation sessions as required, ensuring that the Manager(s) is/are aware of staffing levels, maintaining information and employee profiles in the SAP and/or ESP staff scheduling system, updating the day to day schedule changes in ESP and/or SAP and running staffing reports as requested. Coordinates the appointment calendars for the Manager Health Services and perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum two years previous related experience, preferably in a health care setting.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills required.
  • Typing 50 wpm, medical terminology (pass mark 75%) required.
  • Knowledge of personal computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP and/or ESP staff scheduling applications.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, beliefs and practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to function in a high volume, and adapt to changing priorities.
