Position Overview

Provide patient transport for dialysis patients both out-patient and in-patients, transport mail, specimens and reports within Seven Oaks General Hospital. Lifting and transferring of patients as required. Obtaining and setting up equipment and supplies for the unit. Assist with ride arrangements/confirmation for patients. Assists with assigned patient care, cleaning and other duties R/T maintaining a safe clean environment.

Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years recent HCA experience, preferably in Renal Health.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Grade 10, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized educational institution is required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Good organizational skills, flexibility and independence in completing work assignments.
  • Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Good communication skills (essential).
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Must have and maintain current BCLS Certification.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
