Position Overview

Under the general supervision of and in collaboration with the Manager Health Services and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital (SBH), the Clinical Resource Nurse (CRN) is responsible for providing clinical expertise to nurses. The CRN assumes a leadership role in coordinating patient care within the health care team, ensuring quality patient care outcomes, and promoting an interprofessional patient centered approach to care based on best practice.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years Intensive Care Nursing experience required.
  • Charge Nurse experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Post-basic Critical Care Nursing Program required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Advanced BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required.  
  • Demonstrated clinical competence required.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities required.
