About this role

WinnCompanies is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing Employee Relations support for multiple properties in Winn Military Housing Services. The ideal candidate will act as a point of contact for employee relations issues and employment-related matters, providing guidance and counsel to employees and managers.

 

The salary range for this role is $70,000.00-$75,550.00 annually dependent on experience. The final pay rate will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

 

The candidate will support multiple locations in different time zones, including but not limited to Alaska, Pacific and Mountain time zones.

 

Please note that this role is fully remote, but travel may occasionally be required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with managers and employees, review, research, and investigate employee relations matters from basic policy interpretation to basic investigations, advising and coaching managers and employees through the process.
  • May include but is not limited to reviewing/creating corrective actions and performance improvement plans, termination review/sign-off, mentoring and coaching in management practices and communication skills.
  • Share management responsibility for the adjudication process for the drug and background screening process.
  • Evaluate applicant’s background report results against hiring guidelines to determine if company standards are met.
  • Perform, monitor, and track a variety of data audits and communicate discrepancies to appropriate parties. May include but is not limited to: Handbook and Arbitration completion, systems user accounts, Employee Relations Helpdesk ticketing and response times, Employee handbook updates
  • Collaborate with benefits staff in management of employees leave status, issues and compliance, some leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations, and workers compensation.
  • Manage the division’s unemployment cases and essential processing system.
  • Assist with the administration of the annual employee engagement survey.
  • Monitor, support, and facilitate development activities, trainings, and communications to various employee groups as policies/processes change or as training is needed.
  • Assist in administering yearly motor vehicle records searches for all MHS employees.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • 1-3 years of supervisor / management experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful human resource experience with a minimum of three years exposure to employee relations.
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to multi-task in heavy workload.
  • Advanced skills with web-based applications and computer systems such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access database.
  • Working knowledge of Labor laws and Federal rules and regulations.
  • Sound Judgement and discernment.
  • Maintain discretion in matters of confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in relationship building.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks and work under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM member.
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR certification.
