Salary: £34,434 pro rata 

Hours of work: 37 hours per week Monday-Friday (term time plus 2 working weeks) including Teacher Training Days – flexible hours can be discussed

At Durrington Junior, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced School Business Manager, or someone with relevant experience in business or industry, who would like to join our school. We are looking for someone who shares our values of: truth, kindness and respect, and wants to make a difference to children’s lives. 

This is a great opportunity to begin or further your career within a friendly, supportive staff team. Our forward-thinking village school is set on the edge of Salisbury Plain, close to the Stonehenge World Heritage Site. 

All about the role:

We are looking for someone who: 

  • Is a qualified or has experience as a school business manager, or has been in an equivalent financial planning and managing role
  • Has a secure knowledge of health and safety, premises, risk, procurement, financial and asset management.   
  • Is well presented and articulate, with good communication skills;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to communicate with a variety of pupils, staff, parents and governors
  • Has good attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent;
  • Has the ability to handle problems quickly and efficiently, and make effective decisions;
  • Is a strong team player, who can use their own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude;
  • Has sound IT skills, with preferably a knowledge of SIMS and FMS or other Management Information Software
