Salary: Grade B SCP 2, £24,413 FTE (£12.69 per hour) approx. £4,387 per year

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 11.40am – 1.15pm (7 hours 55 mins per week) term time only (38 weeks)

All about the role:

We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisory Assistant to support pupils during the lunchtime period, predominantly within the school hall. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and positive behaviour of children during lunch.

This role would suit someone who is calm, approachable and enjoys working with children in a busy school environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Supervising pupils in the lunch hall and other designated areas while they eat or take part in lunchtime activities
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting children to have an enjoyable and safe lunchtime
  • Assisting with practical tasks including clearing spillages, cleaning tables and benches
  • Setting up and putting away tables and benches used during the lunch break
  • Sweeping and mopping the hall floor as required

The role involves standing and walking for extended periods and includes manual handling of tables, benches and equipment. Some duties may take place outdoors, and there will be background noise from pupils.
