A bit about us:

The Palladian Academy Trust is a community of schools, each with its own ethos, that enjoy a mutually enriching partnership. Our Trust includes both church and community academies working closely together, all connected by a shared vision for our pupils: ‘excellent and equitable opportunities so everyone can flourish.’

Westbury Leigh CE Primary School is a proud member of the Palladian Academy Trust, located on the edge of Westbury Town. As a large, modern school with spacious grounds, we provide an inspiring environment where children can thrive both academically and personally.

At Westbury Leigh, our ethos is simple but powerful: we aspire not to have more, but to be more. We believe every child has the potential to become the best version of themselves—motivated to learn, inspired by their experiences, and supported to achieve. We see our pupils as the future custodians of the world and strive to give them the courage, voice, and sense of responsibility to make a difference for the better.

All about the role:

Are you an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), working towards HLTA status or at an equivalent level? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are excited to offer the right candidate the opportunity to be our new HTLA, working 24 contracted hours, over four days per week but with the option to pick up additional hours.

As an HLTA working under the direction and the agreed system of supervision of a qualified teacher, you will be supporting the planning, delivery and assessment of the learning activities.  Your role will include delivering high-quality learning opportunities, mostly covering PPA time and will play a key role in advancing pupils’ learning across the curriculum.

You will have a strong understanding of the HLTA standards, excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and promote the inclusion of all pupils.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about providing engaging, memorable learning opportunities within a rich and inspiring curriculum.
  • Deeply committed to the belief that every child can succeed, flourish, and achieve.
  • A confident and effective classroom practitioner with high expectations and a reflective approach to teaching.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, creative, and caring.
  • Ambitious for themselves and others, with a commitment to continuous school improvement.
  • A team player who contributes positively to a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Supportive of the Christian ethos of our school.

In return, we offer:

  • A clear vision and values-driven culture that underpin all we do.
  • An inclusive, supportive ethos that celebrates and values every individual.
  • A dynamic and welcoming school with a highly committed and enthusiastic team.
  • Strong professional development opportunities to support your growth.
  • A warm and engaged school community, with a comprehensive induction programme.
  • A rich outdoor learning environment, including a school farm.
  • Recognition as an Eco School, supporting our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

If you are excited about joining a forward-thinking school that values creativity, collaboration, and high expectations, we would love to hear from you.
