Sanitation Supervisor – Champion Hygiene & Standards in Food Service!
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all sanitation activities within the food manufacturing facility to ensure operations meet regulatory, customer, and company standards for cleanliness, food safety, and employee safety. This role ensures that all production areas, equipment, and tools are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, and sanitary standard operating procedures (SSOPs).
The Sanitation Supervisor will lead a team of sanitation associates, conduct inspections, verify cleaning effectiveness, train employees in sanitation programs, and collaborate closely with Operations, FSQA, and Maintenance to support efficient and safe production.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee daily sanitation activities including cleaning, sanitizing, and inspection of equipment, production rooms, and common areas.
Ensure proper execution of SSOPs across all areas of the facility.
Coordinate pre-operational inspections and verify sanitation effectiveness before production starts.
Monitor chemical usage, concentrations, and the correct application of cleaning agents.
Ensure all sanitation tasks are completed within established timelines to support production schedules.
Maintain compliance with FDA, USDA (if applicable), GMPs, HACCP, and company food safety standards.
Ensure accurate documentation of sanitation records, checklists, pre-op forms, and corrective actions.
Assist with regulatory audits, customer inspections, and internal facility audits.
Report and document any sanitation-related deviations or hazards.
Supervise, schedule, and assign duties to sanitation staff.
Train sanitation employees on cleaning procedures, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective actions when necessary.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Enforce safety protocols including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Identify and escalate maintenance needs for equipment, drains, flooring, and facility infrastructure.
Collaborate with FSQA and Maintenance to resolve sanitation issues and prevent reoccurrence.
Ensure safe storage and handling of sanitation chemicals and supplies.
Evaluate sanitation processes to identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness.
Implement improvements that reduce downtime, enhance cleanliness, or lower chemical/labor costs.
Participate in root cause analysis for contamination or sanitation failures.

Payrate- $20-22 per hour- based on experience
