About this role
Lead Operator Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Lead Operator is to operate, maintain and oversee the operation and maintenance (O & M) of wastewater systems in their assigned area. The Lead Operator will be the point of contact, coordinator of tasks associated with system O & M, and be responsible for work performed by service and operators under their direction.
Hiring Requirements/Preferences for Lead Operator:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience as a licensed wastewater/water operator, or equivalent education and experience, including treatment plants, collection/distribution systems and pump/booster stations.
- Must possess a Grade 5C issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or equivalent in CT, NH, or RI.
- Ability and willingness to fulfill on-call duties both nights and weekends.
- Ability to review, interpret and utilize information found in blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements of states that encompass the assigned service area.
- Ability to utilize computers, tablets and/or other electronic devices.
- OSHA 10 General Industry Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).
- Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid US Driver's License.
