The Senior Specialist is required to execute and maintain mastery of all Payment Operations workflows, encompassing all Level 1 and Level 2 duties. Operating with minimal guidance, this role requires the proactive use of advanced financial knowledge to manage daily risk and efficiency. The L3 is accountable for the quality of daily processing and is instrumental in driving procedural improvements and team development.
Oversight & Advanced Transaction Processing
Oversee and execute all aspects of daily payment processing, including reviewing, balancing, post-processing, and sending deposits.
Drive and finalize complex daily balancing and intricate ACH entry/verification procedures.
Manage all AM/PM pull request tasks and ensure compliance with cut-off times.
Rigorous Quality Control & Data Integrity:
Implement and maintain spreadsheets to track key performance indicators, complete reconciliation tasks, and proactively identify and correct errors.
Lead internal quality control measures to uphold the highest standard of data integrity and processing accuracy.
Issue Resolution & Partner Support:
Take ownership of and resolve emergent issues and complex transaction discrepancies escalated from Level 2 or identified through quality review.
Furnish essential support to external partners and internal stakeholders (e.g., Treasury, Accounting) by managing complex inquiries and reprocessing requests.Process Improvement & Automation
Instrumental in the identification and IMPLEMENTATION of process enhancements to drive execution efficiency.
Proactively identify and embrace opportunities to integrate AI and automation technologies to drive scale, reduce reliance on manual processes, and mitigate operational risks.
Mentorship & Team Development:
Serve as the primary mentor for Payment Operations Specialist (L1) and Specialist II (L2) team members, providing coaching on complex workflows.
Contribute to the formal review and finalization of updated procedural documentation for communication to the broader team.

2+ years of experience in payment processing or a similar role.
Advanced knowledge of RDCPoint and RightNow systems.
Proactive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to payment processing.
Proficiency in Google Sheet and/or Microsoft Office and database navigation.
Experience working in a remote setting.
Strong preference for candidates located in Fargo, North Dakota or Edina, Minnesota due to required in-office duties, including package handling.
