Solution Designer – Lead the Future of Data Engineering with Informatica

What’s the role?
Join a team of passionate engineers and technologists on a multi-year journey to transform our core customer technology stack. As a Solution Designer – Informatica, you’ll lead the design of scalable, high-performance ETL solutions that power our data transformation agenda. We embrace collaboration, innovation, and agile methodologies to shape the future of our technology landscape—be part of something big.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design robust ETL solutions using Informatica, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ETL developers, promoting best practices in data engineering.
- Continuously evaluate and improve development workflows and tools to enhance efficiency.
- Offer expert advice on technical issues, solutions, and best practices across development teams.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to support their technical and professional growth.
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex cross-platform service issues during the application lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with Westpac’s standards and regulatory obligations.
What do I need?
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field with a major in Software Engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in IT, with a strong background in systems development, support, and maintenance.
- Deep expertise in Informatica PowerCenter and related tools, including ETL design, development, and performance tuning.
- Strong database management skills across Oracle, SQL Server, and Teradata, with proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience in systems integration, shell scripting, and version control tools like Git and Bitbucket.
- Familiarity with other systems such as Oracle/Siebel is a plus.
