About this role

Create your best future and join Westpac as a Senior Manager, Compliance Incidents

What’s the role?

As a Senior Manager in our Compliance Incidents team, you’ll take the lead on assessing incidents that may need to be reported to regulators such as ASIC, OAIC, BCCC and APRA. You’ll unpack what’s happened, apply the right regulatory frameworks, make breach determinations, support the preparation of breach reports to ensure the bank uplifts going forward.

You’ll also play a key role in guiding one or more Managers within the team, helping them grow, providing insight around compliance incidents and breaches across a portfolio and supporting core team processes like triage.

You’ll work across a diverse mix of incident types spanning Consumer, Business & Wealth, Customer & Corporate Services and Group Functions, giving you exposure to a broad set of regimes including privacy, responsible lending, hardship, misleading conduct, Banking Code obligations and prudential standards.

This is a full‑time, permanent role based in Sydney, working three days in the office to connect with the team.

What do I need?

You’ll bring:

  • Prior experience in a similar role from banking or financial services.
  • Experience completing Compliance Assessments and making Breach Determinations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically while staying across the detail.
  • Good judgement and comfort making decisions in complex situations.
