About this role



What’s the Role:

As a Quality Engineering Manager reporting to the Head of Testing, BT Platforms, you will be responsible for leading all testing deliverables, including non-functional testing and automation. You will drive end-to-end test planning, execution, governance, and sign-off, ensuring the highest standards of quality across the PW portfolio.

 

The Role:
 

  • Draft, maintain, and deliver a comprehensive end‑to‑end test strategy, covering functional, integration, API, performance, and automation testing.
  • Ensure all testing activities align with program delivery methodologies and governance standards.
  • Provide visibility, traceability, and control across the full testing lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships across Program, Engineering, Product, and vendor teams while resolving complex technical issues.
  • Oversee test design, scheduling, execution, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Create and maintain testing metrics, dashboards, and governance reporting.
  • Champion API‑first testing practices, including contract, integration, and automated API validation.
  • Scale automation frameworks across UI, API, backend services, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Embed shift-left testing practices in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Oversee non-functional testing (load, stress, endurance, scalability, availability, accessibility)
  • Provide clear reporting of test outcomes, defect trends, risks, and readiness.
  • Promote continuous improvement through best‑practice QA methodologies, quality metrics, and reusable assets.

 

What do I need?

  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance, including significant tenure as a Quality Engineering Manager
  • Proven experience creating and delivering a high‑quality test strategy, incorporating inputs from all relevant stakeholders and managing the formal sign‑off process.
  • Deep expertise in API testing (REST, microservices, message-based integrations).
  • Strong experience building and managing test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, etc.).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of performance testing (JMeter, LoadRunner, K6 or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in JIRA and XRAY tools.
  • Strong understanding of test governance, QA best practices, and SDLC/Agile/DevOps delivery models.
  • Proven leadership of medium-to-large QA teams, including vendors and offshore teams.
  • Experience across digital, integration, data, cloud, and multi-vendor platforms
