What’s the role?
Our Business Controls and Monitoring (BCM) team sits within Customer & Corporate Services and plays a critical role in supporting Westpac’s first-line risk management across Group Operations and UNITE transformation programs.
As Executive Manager BCM (BLO), you will lead a high-performing team of eight risk professionals to provide strategic, first-line risk advice across Group Operations Business Lending (GO BLO).
This role will see you responsible for leading and uplifting BCM risk capability by developing a high‑performing team and embedding strong risk management rhythms.
Furthermore, provide senior risk expertise to ensure alignment with Group risk appetite, regulatory obligations, and governance reporting.
Additionally, you will oversee risk management activities including incident/issue remediation, support for Business Lending initiatives, and development of new control frameworks for emerging technologies.
What do I need?
- Extensive years of operational risk or compliance experience.
- Experience supporting senior leaders to make critical risk decisions.
- Experience leading high-performing teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- High learning agility and commercial acumen.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
