SUMMARY

We are seeking an enthusiastic Shipper/Receiver to join the Shipping Team. This position will be responsible for loading and unloading materials and deliveries, as well as moving them to and from storage areas. Additionally, they will be selecting and picking materials within the warehouse.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

We are also seeking applicants who understand that employees make key contributions to developing a pro-safe work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Follow all safety rules.
  • Ability to process all relevant Shipping documentation and to fulfill customers orders according to timelines/deadlines provided.
  • Loading and unloading materials and deliveries, as well as moving them to and from storage areas.
  • Selecting and picking materials within the warehouse
  • Gain a good understanding of various Pipe and Electrical Fittings SKU’s with regard to the yard/warehouse locations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a Shipping Loader Operator, or equivalent, and has demonstrated a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of computers skills.
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 Ibs
  • Demonstrated a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset.
  • Must have the ability to work staggered shift schedule.
  • Must be able to read and communicate fluently in English language.
  • Must have basic math skills
  • Maintain a valid Alberta Driver’s License and appropriate forklift certification.
  • Must have strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, push, bend, twist or crouch.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate as this position is based in the warehouse and outdoors. The work is required in the operation of forklifts and other machinery including but not limited to cut-off saws, shrink-wrappers and others which require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
