As an Electrical Engineering Intern, at our Burlington, Ontario facility, you will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, and implementation of electrical, instrumentation and controls projects (Capital, Expense, Development) under the guidance of engineers. Starting May 2026 for a duration of 12 to 16 months.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and optimization of control systems and software related to electrical and mechanical systems
  • Identify suppliers of electro-mechanical components
  • Develop electrical schematics and detailed manufacturing drawings per the Westinghouse Quality Manual
  • Develop software and related documentation (as applicable)
  • Support electrical and/or mechanical assembly of developed systems
  • Support the development of component specifications and purchasing requests
  • Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Assist with the development of test procedures for systems to ensure compliance with design specifications
  • Assist with the operation of the final tooling system in the customer facilities

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in 2nd year or recent graduate of an Electrical engineering program at a university with a minimum GPA of 75%
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and time management skills
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software
  • Self-motivated and highly organized
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical or similar software
  • A background with practical skills developed through jobs, school teams or personal interest are highly valued.
