Job Description

The Bike Patrol Unit will oversee the outside perimeters of Westgate property and remain visible to all public areas.

  • Provide a friendly and safe environment for our guests and team members while protecting company assets.
  • Routinely patrol outside areas while providing guest assistance, being alert for suspicious individuals or circumstances, gaming violations, possible theft, safety hazards or related concerns, medical emergencies, or damage to Westgate property.
  • Ensure to know the locations of all emergency equipment and emergency exits, including, but not limited to, phones, fire extinguishers and lifesaving equipment (AEDs).
  • Maintain general security of the outside areas, ensuring they are visible to the public.
  • Maintain high visibility of the premises to detect any type of criminal activity and general non-compliance to company policies and applicable laws.
  • Perform crowd management and traffic control during various conventions and special events.
  • Respond to locations of pending emergency medical responses and conduct standbys at the location until their departure.
  • Have awareness and report any unauthorized parking on Westgate property (vendors, contractors, oversized vehicles, recreational vehicles, etc.)
  • Detect fire and safety hazards and other defects which might compromise well-being of life and/or property.
  • Be able to assist all local, state and federal agencies when needed.
  • Display a professional, courteous and respectful demeanor at all times.
  • Perform any additional duties determined by security management and in accordance with Westgate policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and enforce paid parking.

Qualifications

Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Must be able to ride a bicycle
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least 1 to 2 years of security experience is required
  • Ability to demonstrate bike riding skills
  • Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming Card, an Alcohol Awareness Card, and have a current and valid Nevada Driver’s License
  • Must be able to pass an insurance background check for the purpose of driving the security vehicle
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally on company two-way radios and/or phones
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pursue and/or detain subjects, either on bike and/or on foot
  • Must be able to conduct basic agility movements, such as keeling, crouching, crawling, etc.
  • Must be able to perform duties of this job in outside weather conditions including, but not limited to, cold and hot weather.
