Regional Vice President and General Manager – Central Region – Work From Home – IL (Greater Chicago area) or Work From Home – TX (Dallas or Houston area)

The Vice President and General Manager, Central Region, is a high-visibility, high-impact leadership role with full accountability for the Central region. As General Manager, the leader owns regional performance and is directly responsible for driving growth by actively leading, coaching, and executing alongside a geographically dispersed sales organization to exceed revenue and market share targets. This is a highly hands-on, field-oriented role requiring regular travel across the region and deep, consistent engagement with customers and agents.

The General Manager operates with strong operational discipline, translating enterprise strategy into clear regional priorities, execution plans, and measurable results. The role works vertically and horizontally across the organization, partnering cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Operations, Compliance, and Finance to remove obstacles, ensure operational excellence, and deliver sustainable growth, while leading with an enterprise-wide mindset. Territory: North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas 

Role Responsibilities:

This role reports directly to Western Union’s President of North America and is responsible for regional P&L management including Retail Money Transfer and Consumer Services Products. Additionally, this position will coordinate GTM activities across functions, including aligning corridor, network, and market strategy teams to ensure optimal performance of the region. 

  • Set strategic direction for region that is aligned to company strategy, including launching and managing key global strategic initiatives as applicable for the region.   

  • Manage the distribution in the region to drive growth in the region in accordance with strategy set for the overall region, including building and expanding the agent coverage.

  • Collaborate across functions, including corridor, network, market strategy and marketing and digital teams, to drive continuous improvements in customer experience and achieve plan numbers.

  • Provide leadership and oversight on the region, the strategy, people capabilities and the regulatory environment.

  • Accountable for managing and developing team to execute against sales plan and strategy and drive growth in the region.

  • Determines use of resources based on direction and priorities of the organization, including aligning work across the team based on skills and abilities to create accountability.   

  • Responsible for setting effective sales plans and targets and managing team's performance to these targets.

  • Up to 50% travel throughout the region.

Role Requirements:

  • 15 years of sales experience, preferably in retail payments

  • In-depth understanding of financial products and services, market dynamics and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience owning and managing a P&L with ability to analyze financial data to drive strategy and decisions.

  • Proven experience developing and executing pricing strategies with real-time market responsiveness, including monitoring competitive dynamics, customer behavior, and performance data to make rapid, field-informed pricing adjustments that drive growth and profitability.

  • Proactive sales mindset with proven ability to drive sales forward.

  • Sales Management experience including managing performance indicators, compensation, and achievement.

  • GTM Skills (pricing, prospecting etc.).

Salary

The base salary range is $210,000 – $250,000 USD per year. This position is eligible for sales compensation and stock incentives align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies.
