What you'll do:

As a Closer you'll prepare and coordinate the loan closing process which includes drawing and reviewing loan documents, balancing and releasing wire to closing agent. In addition, you'll audit loan files, review loan documents for funding and regulatory compliance, prepare collateral and disclosures for shipment to investors, review funding conditions, initiate funding requests with treasury department, and communicate final funding figures to escrow.
  • Audit file for completeness and accuracy to ensure compliance with underwriting, government, investor, and company guidelines. Calculate fee tolerance cures and determine proper waiting periods. Prepare (Closing Disclosure) CD and coordinate a closing date with the processor.
  • Confirm all prior-to-doc conditions are met and signed off by appropriate parties before releasing loan documents. Prepare loan documents and ensure the closing package is complete, fees are accurate, and fully compliant. Review the signed closing package for accuracy and execution. Ensure all prior-to-funding conditions are met and properly signed off.
  • Approve closing agent’s settlement statement. Prepare and verify final funding figures. Request wire for funding and advise settlement agent of funding authorization.
  • Post-closing duties may include confirming recording/disbursement, curing post-closing deficiencies, reconciling final settlement statement and preparing post-closing CD, if needed.

What you'll need:

  • 3+ years of related experience in Retail Residential Mortgage Closing/Funding or similar field.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending; including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Intermediate retail residential closing/funding experience.
  • Intermediate Conventional and Government loan experience. Thorough knowledge of TRID and RESPA LE/CD requirements.
  • Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.
