About this role

Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst position will support the FP&A function for the company. They will support programs and strategic planning initiatives by providing comprehensive and insightful financial analysis backed up by detailed and integrated financial models, historical actual costs, and long-term forecasts.

Position Length: 3-month Term 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage operating expenses, capex, and headcount for both forecast and actual.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly variance analysis to identify and explain significant variances to budget.
  • Work closely with the Director, Finance to provide business partnership support.
  • Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended, and current business information.
  • Publish weekly and quarterly reports to management.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to prepare journal entries and accruals as part of the monthly close process.
  • Partner with budget owners to build short-term and long-term op-ex forecasts and drive solid operating cadence and financial discipline across all sub-teams.
  • Help maintain and update designs when needed in Power BI dashboards to track spending and providing Executives with live and insightful results.
  • Participation in Ad hoc projects and financial analysis to support key business decisions, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance and MBA or CPA designation is required.
  • 5- 7 years of experience in FP&A.
  • Experience with ERP/Planning Systems (Power BI is a plus).
  • Unparalleled sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to think creatively and quickly with minimal direction and information.
  • Strong business and analytical skills; ability to multi-task, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a continually evolving environment.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills, experience, and desire to work cross-functionally and be a contributing team member.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle competing priorities.
  • Fluent understanding of journal entries (debit/credit) and accounting rules.

 

Skills:

  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
  • Strong business intelligence/data analytics skills. Experience creating automated reports and dashboards.
  • Advanced knowledge/experience using Microsoft Excel, Access, Power BI, Power Query.
  • Previous experience working with multiple legal entities is a preference.
  • Previous experience with ERP software (Visual, IFS) and ability to learn new and different ERP software.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong internal and external business relationships.
  • Clearly understands how to assess the importance of tasks and decisions and set priorities, focusing time/energy on the most important issues/opportunities.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills required with demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
