SUMMARY


The Regional Marketing Specialist is responsible for translating the marketing strategy into local market action, ensuring consistent campaign execution across all store locations, and helping drive traffic and sales at West Music's retail locations. This role serves as the critical bridge between marketing direction and regional execution, ensuring West Music maintains brand consistency while responding to local market opportunities.


This role focuses on serving consumer audiences including band directors, music hobbyists, parents of student musicians, and local community members. The Regional Marketing Specialist ensures West Music's marketing presence is actively felt in local markets through store events, in-store signage, community engagement, social media presence, and regional campaigns that drive foot traffic and sales growth.


The Regional Marketing Specialist creates a feedback loop between stores and marketing, coordinates regional marketing calendars and local events, manages store-specific marketing asset production within brand guidelines, and provides operational marketing support for regional initiatives. This role requires strong collaboration with store managers, regional sales teams, and marketing leadership.


Travel to store locations and regional events will be required.

   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of West Music:


Regional Campaign Execution & Adaptation:

  • Translate marketing campaigns into region-specific action plans with clear timelines and execution requirements
  • Coordinate campaign timing and implementation across multiple store locations
  • Ensure promotional alignment between digital marketing and in-store customer experiences
  • Monitor regional campaign performance and report results to marketing leadership
  • Identify opportunities to amplify successful local initiatives

Store Marketing Operations & Coordination:

  • Manage the regional marketing calendar, coordinating local events with store leadership, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
  • Process store marketing requests through established workflows and approval processes
  • Manage distribution of marketing supplies, print materials, and promotional items to store locations
  • Coordinate digital signage updates and ensure in-store promotional materials are current and properly displayed
  • Maintain regional marketing asset library and ensure stores have access to approved materials
  • Handle regional customer service inquiries related to promotions, events, and marketing initiatives
  • Support store managers with marketing and execution guidance 

Local Content Creation & Community Engagement:

  • Produce store-specific social media content within established brand guidelines
  • Capture and document local success stories, customer testimonials, and community engagement for brand amplification
  • Coordinate photo and video needs for regional events, store activities, and local initiatives
  • Develop localized email marketing for store-specific campaigns and event promotions
  • Create content that highlights store staff expertise, local inventory, and community involvement
  • Participate in social listening to understand regional customer needs and competitive dynamics
  • Support content development for local sponsorships and community partnerships 

Store Support & Relationship Management:

  • Conduct routine check-ins with regional and store managers to understand marketing needs, challenges, and opportunities
  • Aggregate store feedback on campaign effectiveness, customer response, and competitive activity
  • Identify regional market opportunities and emerging local trends
  • Work with Regional Executives to train store staff on marketing tools and campaign execution
  • Serve as primary marketing contact for store teams, providing responsive support and guidance
  • Build collaborative relationships with store leadership to ensure marketing supports sales objectives
  • Report regional performance metrics, insights, and recommendations to marketing

Regional Sales & Events Support:

  • Collaborate with regional sales representatives to align marketing with local market priorities
  • Support regional school services sales teams with collateral, promotional materials, and event resources
  • Coordinate marketing elements for store events including clinics, workshops, and product demonstrations
  • Assist with local event logistics including signage, promotional materials, and digital promotion
  • Support regional sales initiatives with targeted marketing campaigns and store-specific offers
  • Work with the Events Team to integrate local activities into broader West Music event strategy 

Marketing Administration & Operations:

  • Manage regional marketing budget tracking, vendor invoicing, and expense reporting
  • Coordinate local vendor relationships including printers, event venues, and promotional suppliers
  • Support email list management and data hygiene for regional customer segments
  • Maintain documentation of regional marketing activities and campaign performance
  • Operate proficiently within the West Music tech stack including Wrike, HubSpot, Canva, Adobe, as well as CRM, marketing automation, and content management systems
  • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and marketing best practices

Requirements

Education, Experience & Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field
  • 3+ years of professional marketing experience in B2B, B2C, or agency environment
  • Strong understanding of retail and consumer behavior
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated copywriting ability
  • Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, and digital marketing tools
  • Basic experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across different locations
  • Customer service orientation and responsive communication style
  • Comfort with data-driven decision making and performance reporting

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail marketing or multi-location marketing coordination
  • Background in music education, retail music, or the music products industry
  • CRM and marketing automation software experience (HubSpot or similar)
  • Community event planning and support experience
  • Understanding of band and orchestra programs in educational settings
  • Familiarity with music retail customer journey and purchase behavior
