About your new role
The role of a Suicide Prevention Support Services Manager is to oversee the day to day operations of the suicide prevention and postvention programs, the main mission of these programs are to help a person stay safe and connect with existing health and community services during a period of high risk and vulnerability.
As the Suicide Prevention Support Services Manager you will support the team to provide non-clinical, assertive outreach, follow-up care and practical support to individuals directly after a suicide attempt or crisis.
This is a critical program within our community and we want you to Lead, coach and develop a team of Suicide Prevention and Aftercare Coordinators to deliver high quality support services.
The Programs
The Universal Aftercare (UA) Program is a suicide after-care service that has been developed to care for people discharged from hospital after a suicide attempt or crisis. The UA program aims to prevent deaths by suicide by providing care coordination and supporting people to link with supports that help keep them safe and support recovery.
The After Suicide Support and StandBy Support After Suicide Programs provide bereavement support for individuals, families, friends workplaces and communities following a loss by suicide.
Our Peer Workforce program employees peer workers with a lived experience of suicidality or suicide bereavement to work alongside participants of The Way Back and After Suicide Support programs.
