Work Shift

Job Summary:


This is a multi-task lead position responsible for maintenance and inspection of critical systems such as medical, gas, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, air quality filtration, and patient calls in the Columbia County hospital buildings. Completes assigned projects along with normal maintenance jobs. Assists in the development and training of Maintenance Technicians. Performs in a lead role on assigned projects. Provides excellent customer service to all patients, families, and staff with each repair.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Performs plumbing systems maintenance: inspects plumbing fixtures for leaks and repairs as required; checks drain lines and repairs as needed; replaces faucets, washers, seats, stems, and hardware; resets commodes, tubs, sinks, repairs flush valves; initiates repairs of water piping systems to include copper, cast iron, galvanized, PVC, Orion, black iron, and ductile iron. Meets all State of Georgia Plumbing Codes in relation to plumbing systems.
Performs boiler systems maintenance: inspects boiler systems for leaks and repairs as required; takes part in daily rounds of boiler and steam systems; ensure all equipment related to boiler systems is functional. Meets all ASHE and NFPA codes in relation to pressure vessels.
Compliance with Customer Service Standards: promotes customer satisfaction; courteous and professional at all time; keeps customers well informed of problems and situations; maintains a positive attitude in difficult situations.
Maintains and completes required paperwork: maintains a daily log of work required and completed; submits all completed paperwork to manager of Customer Service Center; completes routine and preventive maintenance work orders by due dates.
Performs medical gas systems maintenance task: inspects medical gas systems for leaks and repairs as required; takes part in daily rounds of medical gas equipment; ensures all equipment related to medical gas is functional. Meets all ASHE and NFPA codes in relation to medical gas equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.


Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma General or GED General


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • GADL - Georgia Driver's License or VSDL - Valid State Driver's License

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):


State of Georgia Warm Air Card Upon Hire Preferred


Required Minimum Experience:
