Title: Research Project Coordinator  

Location: Upper East Side  

Org Unit: Translational Research Core Lab 

Work Days: Monday-Friday 

Weekly Hours: 35.00 

Exemption Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $70,500.00 - $80,400.00  

*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices 

Position Summary

Coordinates regulatory, contractual, and administrative activities with research administration staff in the Center for Translational Pathology (CTP) under supervision of leadership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project intake and communication across divisions to execute CTP projects.
  • Track progress and status of projects sponsored by commercial entities.
  • Communicate with external entities regarding project administrative status updates (e.g., contracting, consultation scheduling).
  • Manage departmental biobanking processes and policies. Maintain records for tissue management and oversee tissue retrieval projects.
  • Coordinate the creation of departmental data infrastructure, leading quality control efforts as directed by the Scientific Director of the CTP as well as other clinical leadership
  • Facilitate PRMC and IRB approval process for clinical faculty, assist with the continuing review and amendment applications.
  • Assist clinical faculty with contracts, MTAs, DUAs, CDA, industry service agreements and sponsored research projects. Support creation of department-wide research IRBs with vice chairs.
  • Coordinates IRB, MTA and CDA submissions. Manages interactions between clinical investigators, the IRB, MTA and CDA offices and the administrative offices of outside potential sponsoring entities (e.g. biotech companies and pharmaceutical industry).
  • Maintain regulatory compliance as needed for CTP programs.
  • Produce reports as needed regarding CTP projects. May assist in budget preparation and pricing for CTP-managed projects. Edits and proposes changes to administrative documents or program requirements.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • 3 years of prior relevant experience in a research setting or in an academic medical center.
  • Prior pathology-related experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of research grants is highly desired.
