Position Summary

The Meyer Cancer Center (MCC) at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM), in collaboration with the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) and the Weill Cancer Hub East (WCHE), seeks a Project Coordinator to provide administrative, operational, and project management support to the mission of these Scientific Initiatives. PICI at WCM drives an innovative program to accelerate cancer immunotherapy research, and WCHE establishes a collaborative research program between three partner institutions (Princeton University, Rockefeller University, and Weill Cornell Medical College) in the areas of nutrition, metabolism, and immunity.

This role will ensure smooth coordination of meetings, events, communications, and program objectives, supporting leadership and stakeholders in advancing cancer research and cross-institutional collaborations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages ongoing and project-based initiatives and projects as needed. Coordinates team members, designs workflow, creates project plans and ensures deadlines are met.
  • May be required to assist in defining business objectives, scope, exceptions and acceptance criteria of projects as well as participate in and contribute to strategic planning meetings.
  • Develops and presents reports and presentations related to special projects being managed. Maintains financial reporting systems and/or other in-house databases as needed. 
  • Participates in internal and external audits relating to regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for procurement activities related to goods, services, and/or equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for disbursement/reimbursement activities as needed.
  • Provides general administrative support to senior staff of the department, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, completing forms, assisting with vendor interactions and filing documents.
  • For assigned projects, oversees financial planning as it relates to the operating budget. Gathers strategic plans from stakeholders and ensures effective management of expenses by monitoring available balances and directing adherence to budget limits. 
  • May need to represent the department/project at community meetings and participate in project meetings locally and nationwide.
  • As needed, assists in planning and organizing various marketing and/or event activities/materials.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

Approximately 3 years or related experience. 

Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and office software applications.

Ability to analyze business needs, recommend effective technology or process solutions, and provide counsel to senior leaders.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in advanced functionality of Microsoft Excel and Access, i.e. pivot tables, Vlookups, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise standards of professionalism.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it.
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented and technically savvy, as well as a self-starter, who can work independently with limited oversight.
  • Effectively manage multiple short- and long-term projects and overlapping priorities.
