This role is suited for an experienced database and data engineering professional with deep expertise in Oracle technologies and a strong understanding of investment management data. You will be responsible for designing, enhancing, and maintaining high-quality database solutions that support critical financial data workflows. The position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work within agile teams while handling complex data relationships and legacy systems. You will play a key role in strengthening data foundations, improving data quality, and enabling reliable analytics and operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL solutions to support complex data processing requirements
- Model and manage enterprise-grade database schemas, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Reverse engineer existing database structures to understand data flows, dependencies, and business logic
- Develop Python-based utilities and scripts for data processing, validation, automation, and operational support
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve data quality controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate data requirements into robust database designs
- Maintain and enhance documentation for database structures, transformations, and data processes
- Use version control systems such as Git to manage database code, scripts, and change history
- Participate actively in agile development ceremonies, contributing to planning, estimation, and continuous improvement
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of data-related issues in production environments
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience working with Oracle databases, including advanced SQL and PL/SQL development
- Strong command of data modeling principles, relational database design, and best practices
- Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and operational tooling
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining rigorous data quality and validation frameworks
- Ability to analyze and understand complex, existing database schemas and data relationships
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems and disciplined development practices
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to create clear, structured technical documentation
- Experience working in agile development environments and contributing to team-level process improvements
- Solid understanding of investment management concepts such as security and fund reference data, transactions, holdings, orders, and fund accounting
- A detail-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
