Clough is seeking a Lead Estimator to join the Bidding Energy & Resources Team in our North Sydney office. The Lead Estimator plays a pivotal role in leading the estimating function across all tender submissions and validation of ongoing works, acting as the key representative of the estimating team. This position demands a high level of technical expertise, strategic insight, and leadership capability to ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of all estimates.

As part of a centralised national team operating across WA, QLD, and NSW, the Lead Estimator will be expected to travel frequently, particularly during bid study periods, to support on-site collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and real-time project analysis.

What you will bring to the team:

• Possession of  Engineering or tertiary qualifications in the engineering or related field
• A minimum of 15 years’ experience in the Energy & Resources sector (Oil and Gas, Mining, Process Plants)
• Considerable experience as a Line Estimator, in tender preparation for contracts congruent with the Company’s operations
• Proficiency in the use of the different Estimating software’s
• Demonstrable leadership capabilities, communication, coaching, mentoring and developing the estimating team

Skills

• Proficiency with CCS Candy estimating software.
• Advanced Microsoft skills
• Ability to develop top-down estimates based on norms and in accordance with an Area Breakdown Structure
• Ability to establish direct and indirect costs.
• Ability to qualify estimates as required.
• Ability to assist in the development of construction execution.

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of Energy & Resources sector practices (Oil and Gas, Mining, Process Plants) 
• Strong commercial awareness
• Strong understanding of contracting principles
• Develop best working practices for the team
• Familiarity with industry norms for Infrastructure/Construction

Experience

• 15 (+) years in the Energy & Resources industry
• 10 (+) years’ experience working as an EPC or Construction contractor
