Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant, Project SPARK, at its Detroit campus location.

Position Purpose:

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual for a full-time Research Assistant position to support a foundation-funded research project. The primary function of this role is to coordinate, implement, and manage all aspects of the project work plan while supporting research, training delivery, and participant engagement to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Program Coordinator

Execute and manage all components of the project work plan to ensure timely completion of tasks and alignment with established project goals.

 

Serve as the primary liaison among principal investigators, content experts, learning design and technology specialists, and evaluators.

 

Lead weekly team meetings and facilitate clear, consistent communication across all project teams

Oversee the transition of content to the online learning platform to ensure quality and usability.

 

Manage project budget activities, including budget tracking, spend-down, administrative communication, and reporting.

 

Coordinate participant recruitment efforts and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Provide ongoing administrative and logistical support throughout all phases of project implementation.

 

Lead the revision and enhancement of training platforms based on user feedback and continuous improvement needs.

 

Collaborate with the Michigan Department of Education and principal investigators to integrate approved Adapted Physical Education State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHS) into the statewide continuing education catalog.

 

Develop online promotional materials and recruitment campaigns to engage a minimum of 300 participants across three enrollment periods.

 

Design user-friendly enrollment and registration processes to ensure participant access to training platforms.

 

Enroll participants, distribute course access instructions, and orient users to platform navigation and course expectations.

 

Provide technical and logistical support to participants throughout the training process.

 

Conduct pilot sessions with coaches, volunteers, and leadership to assess usability and content delivery.

 

Collect and analyze feedback to evaluate platform usability, curriculum effectiveness, and alignment with professional standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous research assistant experience is required.

 

Education:              

 

Master's degree in health or related field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Experience with conducting research for federally-funded and/or school-based projects.

 

Other skills, knowledge and abilities:

 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Attention to detail is a must.

 

Ability to collaborate well with co-workers and work independently as needed.
