About this role

Job Summary: The Complex IT Support Specialist is a hands-on role focusing on assigned location’s computer and network system operations to ensure optimal functioning and for the assigned area on the implementation and rollout of IT related projects. This role manages end user help requests for software and hardware computer issues.

Job Responsibilities

Technology Implementation and Support

  • Lead technology efforts at assigned locations to ensure uniform implementation and rollout of IT projects and updates, providing guidance to Technology Specialists.
  • Assist with software releases and rollouts, communicating changes to end users and providing training as necessary.
  • Perform hands-on repairs at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software and hardware, and configuring systems and applications.

Problem Resolution and Coordination

  • Evaluate documented resolutions to identify trends, develop solutions to prevent reoccurring problems, and communicate emerging incident trends to management.
  • Coordinate with corporate help desk, network services, and other IT groups to ensure the appropriate group is engaged for projects and issues.
  • Prioritize and schedule end-user help requests, escalating to appropriate personnel when needed.

Communication and Compliance

  • Gather documentation and provide updates, statuses, and completions to the appropriate personnel, offering regular feedback on successes and improvements.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, establishing and managing safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular feedback to leadership on the performance and development opportunities for Technology Resource Specialists in assigned locations.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a team-based environment)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate, both verbal and written, with all levels of the organization and external customer in a timely and professional manner

Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail

Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude and high energy level

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications: MCP- MCSE, CompTIA A+ preferred

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to typical risks of injury in an office and manufacturing environments. 
  • Duties include potential work in cold and wet or warm and humid and/ or dusty.
