About this role

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Primarily responsible for loading feed trucks with appropriate feed type and quantity. Obtain daily samples of all feed types per company sampling requirements and policies. Performs work in compliance with all company policies, GMP’s, FSMA regulations, local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:                

  • Under minimal supervision, operate feed bulk load-out system, load and weigh feed trucks with required feed type and quantity
  • Communicate and coordinate schedule and production with personnel to maximize efficiency
  • Report equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel  in a timely manner to reduce down time
  • Take and record daily inventories
  • Provide documentation on feed invoices and ingredient weight tickets as requested
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, GMP’s, FSMA regulations and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Intermediate math (add, subtract, multiply and/or divide proportions, percentages, area, volume, etc.)
  • Basic computer knowledge and usage skills
  • Experience in working with agricultural and/or farm equipment preferred
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
  • Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl and bend
  • Frequently climb stairs and 50+ foot ladders
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 - 100 lbs
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Constantly subject to dusty, hot environments
  • Frequently work in loud environment requiring ear protection
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work at heights of 200+ ft
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack with 2,000+ lbs. of material
