About this role

The hydro blast technician is to safely perform extreme high pressure water blast units to clean industrial systems as well as operate vacuum trucks and will perform a wide range of physically strenuous activities that require the strength and flexibility to carry, handle, position, move and manipulate materials and equipment. The operation of vehicles, mechanized devices, or running equipment may be required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following all policies, processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to operate high-pressured water-blaster and vacuum equipment.
  • Ensures proper use of the equipment and immediately notify supervisor of and mechanical failure or problem of equipment.
  • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE.) This includes but not limited to respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in a multiple number of combinations.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors on areas such as safety, quality, and integrity.
  • Maintains a high standard of Ethics and Dependability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with training and standard operating procedures
  • Hydro blasting or pressure cleaning experience preferred, but not required. General labor experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time. Respond to emergency calls 24 hours, 7 days a week if called upon.
  • Must have valid TWIC card or be able to obtain one.
  • Valid driver's license or identification card
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time within a confined space, in extreme temperature environments and at high elevation.

  • Works in atmospheres and locations with potential for exposure to various chemicals, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
  • Lift, move and handle up to 50lb hoses and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting 25 lbs. overhead ten to fifteen times per twelve-hour shift.
  • Up to 50 lbs. overhead five to ten times per twelve-hour shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders in heights of up to 250 feet.
  • Exposure to extreme climate, including but not limited to sub-freezing and high temperatures up to 140 degrees.
  • Sufficient stamina for steady work pace throughout the day.

 

  • Able to utilize all Personal Protective Equipment as mandated by company

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 

  • Normal setting for this job is: Inside and Outside with exposure to extreme weather conditions and a noisy environment.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro.
  • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
