About this role

Hudson Garbage Service, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscious Yard Helper to join our team in St. Helens, Oregon!

The schedule for this position is full-time, Monday - Friday.

Start time is 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM or until work is complete (end time varies).

Starting wage is $24.00/hour.

Safety Sensitive: Yes

Responsibilities:

  • Yard and facility maintenance including debris and oil spot clean up
  • Pressure washing of carts, portable toilets, equipment, parts, and storage areas as needed
  • Picking up and sweeping windblown trash
  • Running of errands, driving (non-CDL), picking up parts, cart/portable toilet deliveries
  • Various utility tasks as needed
  • Learning the operations of both hauling & transfer station
  • Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change
  • During the summer season support portable toilet routes as needed


Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of work experience.  Preferably in a laborer type role.
  • The ability to stand outside throughout an 8 hour shift.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and push/pull 100 lbs.
  • Ability and will to work in all weather conditions.
  • Experience running equipment (forklift, loader or baler) preferred.
  • Must pass drug screen, motor vehicle report and pre-employment background check.
