About this role

We are currently seeking a professional local Driver to join our team at Waste Connections in Chickasha, Oklahoma. As a Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck and transporting containers to residential customers. This is a physically demanding role that requires excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to safety.

Pay: $20.50 per hour

Hours: Monday - Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Job Requirements:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Driver or in a similar role

- Ability to operate a heavy-duty truck and handle various waste materials

- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations

- Excellent driving skills and the ability to maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces

Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and moving heavy waste containers

- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow established safety procedures

- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and coworkers

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to transport waste materials to designated disposal sites

- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safe operation

- Secure waste containers properly on the truck to prevent spills or accidents during transportation

- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery and pick-up of waste reciprocals

- Communicate with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules

- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns in a professional manner

- Adhere to all local traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of yourself, other drivers, and pedestrians

- Follow established safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary

- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or accidents

- Report any mechanical issues or vehicle malfunctions to the appropriate personnel for repairs
