Position: IT Field Technician

Schedule: Monday through Friday with availability for emergencies outside normal working hours

Compensation: $81,000-$86,000

Bonus: 10% Cash and 10% Equity

Location: Vancouver, WA

We’re looking for an IT Field Technician to provide hands-on technical support across multiple sites. You’ll be the face of IT—installing, configuring, and maintaining core Waste Connections systems and applications. This role includes deploying software updates, setting up PCs, and assisting with telecom projects to keep our teams productive and connected.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide first-level support for workstations and handle after-hours calls as assigned.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot TCP/IP networking and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Configure and maintain PC and laptop hardware, phone systems, and Cisco routers.

  • Manage Microsoft Windows end-user settings (profiles, printers, applications).

  • Support mobile devices (iPads, iPhones, cell phones).

Minimum Requirements

  • Able to travel locally on a regular basis, with up to 20% out‑of‑area travel including occasional overnight stays.

  • Proficiency in at least four of the following:

    • Windows 11

    • WYSE Winterms

    • Citrix Server

    • Windows Server 2008/2012

    • Phone systems

    • Microsoft SQL databases

    • Cisco routers / general networking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • 2+ years of network administration experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft OS and Office applications.

  • Independent, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
