Job Overview:

The Senior Director, Client Services is an integral and senior position on Wasserman’s Experiential Team with responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of agency projects, from brief to execution. The Senior Director, Client Services will ensure that all client deliverables and project milestones are delivered on-time, on-budget and of a quality expected by Wasserman and its clients. Additionally, the Senior Director, Client Services will be responsible for the strategic leadership of accounts, as well as owning and nurturing key client relationships.This specific role may be working across some of the largest sports properties in the US.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a large team of 5 – 15 reports, developing and overseeing career paths, while mentoring the mid-level to coach junior team members
  • Develop and present strategic and innovative work that demonstrates critical thinking and creative solutions, independent of senior management oversight
  • Manage a large account team or several small accounts, maintaining a constant understanding of what's happening across projects and teams and ensure quality and consistency in delivery
  • Responsible for resourcing entire teams, understanding variances in skillsets and maximizing resources while reducing burnout of project team
  • Leader in most account/project conversations, consistently guiding the direction, determining applicable next steps and navigating challenges/pitfalls in real time
  • Continuously works to streamline processes and procedures to make the team work smarter and more efficient
  • Seen as subject matter expert for all programs, templates and working documents, related to the successful management and delivery of accounts/projects
  • Capable of reviewing work and identifying gaps or omissions, providing timely and actionable feedback and ensures work is delivered on time and without issue
  • Lead collaboration with all relevant Wasserman department teams to ensure flawless project delivery against the client’s objectives and agreed upon budget
  • Leader for all IAT (Inter-Agency Team) relationships, guiding collaboration, handling escalation and ensuring teams are working efficiently to deliver a cohesive campaign/proposal to clients
  • Ability to develop, manage and reconcile project budgets of $4M+, while training the wider team on all budget processes
  • Independently drafts agency fees, ensuring expected financial targets are met
  • Understands the landscape for each client’s business/sector, participating in conversations about any aspect of their business
  • Create a positive, collaborative, teamwork environment that aligns with Wasserman company culture and values
  • Play a leadership role during internal and external conversations, managing complex challenges and capable of crafting multiple scenarios/outcomes
  • Able to deliver difficult news and manage client conflict with little-to-no oversight, while providing guidance to the team on how to best navigate client comms, giving context when possible
  • Exemplifies strong leadership, earning a reputation as a trusted advisor not only within the team but also across the organization
  • Focuses on business development and new revenue opportunities with existing and potential clients

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years relevant event agency experience (preferably in the experiential, sports or entertainment field)
  • Experience working with large sports properties and managing partnership activation plans is preferred
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the experiential landscape and proven ability to manage large accounts and deliver complex projects from concept through to execution
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and always possess a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Showcase a level of flexibility that makes colleagues and clients feel confident and comfortable working with you
  • Capable of foreseeing and navigating tough issues with a solution-oriented attitude and influencing those involved toward a desired outcome
  • Polished, even keeled and capable of presenting at any time, even when thrown into a last-minute meeting with no prep time
  • Able to structure a strong and convincing argument independently according to the needs and values of their audience
  • Never accepts status quo, always seeks ways to improve systems, teamwork and collaboration
  • Open to learning from others and remains focused on the goal
  • Able to independently represent Wasserman among mid-senior level clients
  • Must be comfortable working as an integral part of a team environment
  • Focused and strong-minded with an ambition to help grow the company

Base salary range: $125k - $135k, plus bonus potential if applicable for role. Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
