Position Summary

WashU's Division of Student Affairs seeks a soccer coaching professional for the position of Assistant Coach, Men's Soccer. The Division of Student Affairs advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success.

The Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach will serve as the primary assistant for the men’s soccer program; responsible for the program development, instruction, and coaching in an effort to prepare them physically and mentally to compete safely and successfully for conference and national titles, and the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.

This is a 10-month, full-time position during the months of August through May.

WashU Athletics has a rich tradition of athletic achievement that began over 100 years ago and competes at the Division III level of the NCAA. WashU’s varsity sports portfolio contains 19 programs. WashU’s primary conference affiliation is the University Athletic Association Conference (UAA) while football competes in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). With an alumni base spread throughout the country, the reach of WashU’s athletic programs continues to grow.  

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions; provide in-game tactical instruction.
  • Teach sport-specific techniques, advanced skills, and competition strategies to individuals and groups.
  • Analyze film of future opponents to prepare detailed scouting reports and game strategies.
  • Recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
  • Organize team travel, manage equipment/uniform inventory.
  • Assist the head coach with aspects of budget management and purchasing.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with support staff to monitor and promote success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach and/or Athletic Director.

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
