As Warner Bros. Discovery Inc’s portfolio continues to grow – around the world and across platforms – the Global Technology & Operations team is building media technology and IT systems that meet the world class standard for which Discovery is known. GT&O builds, implements and maintains the business systems and technology that are critical for delivering Warner Bros. Discovery’s products, while articulating the long-term technology strategy that will enable Warner Bros. Discovery’s growing pay-tv, digital terrestrial, free-to-air and online services to reach more audiences on more platforms.

From Amsterdam to Singapore and from satellite and broadcast operations to SAP, we are driving Discovery forward on the leading edge of technology.

You will mainly be involved on WBD Sports. The channels moved in a technology transformation for all his equipment home of all countries in Europe based on a hybrid architecture on premise and cloud.

London and Paris team manage the engineering and support of this new group surrounded by two playout center and all the markets in Europe from Eurosport.

Your new role

Part of the M2P Team engineering (Mam, Postproduction and Playout) you will be part of the tier 2 team to coordinate support and the team on MAM, Post-Production and Playout. They work on a virtualized hybrid, on-premised and cloud platform.

Coordination:

  • Coordinate the tasks of the tier 2 team (9 people split between Paris and London), assignment and follow up with the tier 1 team.

  • Work with tier 3 engineering team based in Paris or London

  • Report to the team managers

  • Help in the change management

  • Build test plan and coordinate tests phases of the T2 team.

  • Plan maintenance, upgrade, load tests windows.

Support:

  • Manage the ticket escalated by support level 0/1

  • Follow up of the incident and problems with the different teams and vendors

  • Follow up update on platform day to day with the support Tier 1

  • Non regression test

  • Upgrade phases and reboot action coordination

  • In charge of the global health of the system

  • Tier 2 support expert

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Technology, or similar

  • English writing and speaking  

  • French (optional)

  • Communication skills

  • Capacity to work on a constant change environment

  • Capacity to work on a stress environment with production team during live event

  • Strong team member with self-motivation and consistent customer service

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Broadcast Technology in a support or engineering role

  • Collaborative leadership

  • Experience in Sport, News, Production and Documentary environment

  • Experience with a MAM, Post-Production tools, Playout

  • Extensive Broadcast technical background (IP video 2110, AES 67, NMOS, video and audio formats and codec…)

  • Good understanding of IT technologies and the associated challenge (network, virtualization, storage, cloud services, security…)

  • Following technology intelligence to permanently keep the system efficient for business growth

General  

  • Work on office hour   

  • London, UK or Paris, France  

  • Work remotely possible 2 days a week.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager.
