Your New Role: 

 
The Staff, Solution Architect – ITOM/ITAM & Data will play a strategic role in the Enterprise Service Management function, focusing on architecting and optimizing IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), and foundational data structures within the ServiceNow platform. Based in Hyderabad, this role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Platform Architect Data and will serve as a key technical expert in shaping the future of ITOM and ITAM capabilities across the enterprise. 

 

This role requires deep expertise in ServiceNow’s ITOM and ITAM modules, including Service Mapping, Horizontal Discovery, Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), and Data Normalization. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the CMDB and AMB data models, ensuring data integrity, alignment, and usability across the platform. 

As a senior individual contributor, the Staff Solution Architect will collaborate with engineering, product, and business teams to design scalable, sustainable solutions that support enterprise-wide service management goals. This role will also be responsible for ensuring architectural consistency, data governance, and alignment with platform best practices. 

Your Role Accountabilities: 

Architecture & Design 

 

  • Architect end-to-end ITOM and ITAM solutions within the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards. 

  • Design and maintain scalable data models for CMDB and AMB, supporting accurate service mapping and asset lifecycle management. 

  • Lead the development of reference architectures and reusable solution patterns for ITOM/ITAM capabilities. 

  • Evaluate and recommend platform enhancements to support evolving business needs and technology trends. 

 

Platform Data Governance & Integrity 

  • Ensure data quality, normalization, and integrity across CMDB and AMB through robust governance practices. 

  • Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and relationship mapping across configuration and asset data. 

  • Collaborate with data owners and stewards to maintain accurate and actionable data across the platform. 

  • Support audits and compliance initiatives by ensuring traceability and accountability of asset and configuration data. 

 

Solution Implementation & Technical Enablement 

  • Partner with engineering teams to guide the implementation of ITOM/ITAM solutions, ensuring architectural fidelity and performance. 

  • Provide technical leadership during discovery, design, and deployment phases of platform enhancements. 

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration specifications. 

  • Mentor developers and administrators on best practices for ITOM/ITAM configuration and customization. 

 

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration 

  • Engage with product managers, business analysts, and service owners to understand requirements and translate them into scalable solutions. 

  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on ITOM/ITAM capabilities, platform limitations, and roadmap alignment. 

  • Facilitate design reviews and architecture governance forums to ensure transparency and alignment. 

  • Advocate for continuous improvement and innovation in service management practices through the use of platform capabilities. 

Qualifications & Experiences: 

 

  • 8+ years of experience in IT architecture, with a focus on ServiceNow ITOM and ITAM modules. 

  • Deep expertise in CMDB, AMB, Service Mapping, Discovery, HAM, SAM, and Data Normalization. 

  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable solutions in large, complex enterprise environments. 

  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices and service management frameworks. 

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 

 

Not Required but Preferred Experience: 

 

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – ITOM and/or ITAM. 

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or Application Developer. 

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure discovery and hybrid IT environments. 

  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and enterprise architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF).
