Your New Role...

The WBD Security Engineering team empowers the WBD Global Information and Content Security (GICS) teams by supporting the Security Engineering, Security Architecture, Cloud and Application security, and other Security teams/functions through the deployment, management, and maintenance of shared, reliable, and extensible security platforms/systems. The security engineer plays a key role in the GICS security engineering team, ensuring the best security practices are followed and that tools and processes that support a secure platform are maintained and kept up to date. Ideal candidates will have a mixture of security and systems engineering backgrounds to ensure that business processes are configured correctly and that security best practices are designed and implemented.

As Product Security Engineer, ideal candidates are expected to:

  • Plan, design, engineer and implement security-related technologies.

  • Conduct threat modelling and security architecture assessments.

  • Build and / or manage enterprise security platforms effectively.

  • Communicate effectively across all levels of management to articulate WBD security goals and vision.

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Execute and support key performance indicators for the product security program.

  • Expertly conduct threat modeling to proactively identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities at the earliest stages of product development.

  • Implement security tooling and processes to scale architecture and product security reviews.

  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance the security of direct-to-consumer products and services, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence within the organization.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with DTC product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to design and develop secure, innovative features and functionalities for direct-to-consumer products.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in building, designing, and maintaining enterprise security tools.

  • A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering.

  • 3+ years of successfully implementing advanced cyber security technology in a complex environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other related discipline or 5+ years of previous technical security experience.

  • Hands on technical experience with networking and computing system architectures, specifically, the security aspects thereof.

  • Must have experience using Python or other equivalent languages.

  • Thorough understanding of information security principles, techniques, principles, policy frameworks, and best practices.

  • Extensive Experience in public cloud infrastructures like AWS (AWS Preferred), GCP and Azure.

  • Experience with automation technologies (e.g., Ansible, etc.) and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

  • Experience reviewing the design and implementation of multi-component software systems, especially those relying on third-party APIs.

  • Ability to automate tasks and collect, integrate, and analyze data from multiple sources.

  • Ability to design and write specifications.

  • Self-driven and independent; capable of managing and delivering projects based on defined requirements.

Not Required but preferred experience

  • Security and Cloud certifications are a plus (CISSP, etc.).
