Lead UI Programmer
 

Your New Role…

Rocksteady is looking to add to its family of staff: the Lead UI Programmer will manage a team of game coders to deliver world-class triple-A videogame user experience for our players across multiple platforms. The role focuses on delivering responsive, intuitive, modern user interfaces and flows both for menus as well as the in-game HUD.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis. You can choose to work from home or in the office on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the team collaborates onsite at Rocksteady Studios in Kentish Town, London.
 

Your Role Accountabilities…

  • Leading the implementation of UI and UX through all stages of production: design, scheduling, implementation, iteration and polish.
  • Working closely with Design, giving constructive and proactive input, to realize the vision of the game.
  • Collaborating with Directors, Leads and team members from all disciplines, communicating technical concepts and requirements in a way that facilitates smooth workflow and keeps people informed of both risks and opportunities.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality in-game settings screens, including robust accessibility features.
  • Being a positive, active, and contributing team member.
  • Offering advice and suggestions for improving studio development processes.
  • Support Production with backlog reviews, task estimation, and Jira ticket management.
  • Support your Team with one-to-ones, training, guidance and goal setting.

Qualifications & Experience…

  • Experience leading a team.
  • Advanced understanding of C++ and UI frameworks.
  • Proficient understanding of the main gaming platforms and developing software for them.
  • Experience working on and shipping at least one AAA video game title.
  • Demonstrable videogame design skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Unreal Engine experience, including UMG/CommonUI/Slate, an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Rocksteady games is an advantage.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
