Your New Role…
The primary role of the BIT Engineer for Post Production Technology will be to provide Tier 2 support for media creation workstations and infrastructure for News and Sports. The core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing and resolving requests from clients, maintenance and patching of systems, and partnering with Tier 3 team members to implement new systems and workflows.

The position requires fluency with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, and knowledge in various edit and graphics tools such as Cinema4D, Davinci Resolve, plugins, render farms, desktop virtualization, storage, MAM/PAM and video standards and compressions.

You must possess a forward-thinking approach, anticipating challenges, initiating solutions and actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes without solicitation.  A willingness to maintain a flexible schedule in support of production changes, perform varied tasks with no supervision, set work priorities, solve technical problems and document/communicate resolution to problems are essential to be successful in this position.

  

Your Role Accountabilities…

Day-to-Day

  • Incidents & Service Request Management:  Solve problems reported by customers in ServiceNow
  • Change & Knowledge Management: Document system changes, problem resolution and author/update process and workflow documentation in ServiceNow and/or Confluence
  • Testing & Analysis:  Conduct experiments with new products/features/versions in development environments to ensure targeted outcomes do not impede production, performance or conflict with WBD security standards
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with peers and clients to address issues, communicate expected outcomes, and set expectations for both scheduled and unscheduled work.
  • Client Onboarding:  Assist with the onboarding of users into companywide production systems and SaaS
  • Vendor Case Management: Log cases with vendors; coordinate vendor remote sessions for problem triage and attend recurring vendor incident calls.
  • Hands-on:  Build, configure & troubleshoot full-stack complex ecosystems of media systems, including networking, Media Asset Management, AV routing, and desktop virtualization
  • Systems Lifecycle Management:  Manage the setup, maintenance, onboarding, and retirement of systems

Technical Leadership & Expertise

  • Centers of Excellence: Develop & disseminate technical expertise; Improve Process and Efficiency; Foster innovation and Continuous Improvement; Support strategic initiative; Lead vendor on production defects, feature, and service agreements.
  • Problem Solving:  Solve complex technical & operational issues autonomously and communicate solutions to Operational & Engineering leadership
  • Technical Guidance:  Provide technical direction and mentorship to associate engineers, helping them to develop skill and knowledge
  • Best Practices & Standards:  Implement systems per company best practices and standards; setting standards when they do not exist

Qualifications & Experiences…

  • 3-5 years demonstrated expertise in systems or production engineering
  • College degree, trade certification or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient with core business, process analysis, quantitative analysis, communication, and information technology concepts. 
  • Able to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel within and external to the organization, and quickly assimilate new business & technology concepts. 
  • Able to work all shifts associated with 24x7x365 production environments, including on-call shifts
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Commissioned and administered integrated systems for media production and be fluent in Windows/Mac/Linux Server Administration
  • Advanced at reading and translating data to solve problems; recognize trends and patterns, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, and interpreting results. 
  • Proficient in desktop computing and virtualized environments; data storage and transfer fundamentals; and basic network infrastructure design and security best practices. 
  • Strong client service orientation and ability to prioritize work, anticipate needs, and maintain composure in a fast moving & demanding environment. 
  • Experience training peers and clients on applications, systems, and tools
  • Proficient in scripting, software packaging and automated software deployment 
  • Able to multi-task and assess urgency to set and manage priorities
