III.            Position Summary
This position exists to prep and cook cannabis infused candy in the kitchen department. The Kitchen Technician I will help maintain and ensure compliance with kitchen schedule; monitor, safely and efficiently use equipment and supplies. Help maintain professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors and improve efficiency process through incorporation of new technology. The working environment for this position will be exposure to high temperature kitchen equipment, use of laboratory equipment, and exposure to various fruits and vegetables.

IV.            Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Follow the established food safety guidelines, recipes, and procedures.
  • Follow all GMP, HACCP and Q/A processes in facility.
  • Strictly follow department SOPs, Batch Records, Logs, and protocols.
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and laws regarding cannabis-infused food including proper labeling and dosage requirements.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, including properly storing cannabis-infused ingredients, cleaning utensils and equipment.
  • Maintain relevant training and perform other duties and responsibilities.
  • Basic understanding of common allergens and their potential dangers to consumers.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance tasks as scheduled and needed.
  • Log appropriate production data as required timely and accurately.
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position has no direct reports or supervisory responsibility.

V.              Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience is preferred but will train the right candidate.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, an MED Badge issued through the state of Colorado.
  • Learn2Serve Food Handler Certificate and/or Green Flower Certificate or ability to receive qualifications within 30 days of hiring.
  • Possess basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication & division.
  • Ability to operate basic machinery and develop skills required to maintain equipment.

  • Annual compensation commensurate with experience from $19.00 - $23.00

VII.           Schedule:
  • This position regularly works normal business hours, Monday – Thursday, 6:00a-4:30p. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule.
  • Travel is not expected.
  • This position is not exempt from overtime pay.
VIII.         WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job operates in a warehouse environment and production line/kitchen environment where proper safety procedures must be followed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. This position may use standard kitchen, lab, labeling, and packaging equipment, for example, refrigerators, stove, hot plate, rotary evaporator, gas chromatograph, vacuum pumps, vacuum oven, etc.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently is required to set up heavy equipment, move boxes, and other materials as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee should be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The employee should be able to lift and carry hot liquids weighing up to 35 lbs. The employee must pay attention to proper hygiene and follow strict uniform code.
