Walton Arts Center Inc. operates two campuses: a 1,200-seat proscenium theatre and 269-seat black box in Fayetteville and an 11,000-capacity outdoor Amphitheatre known as the Walmart AMP in Rogers, AR. Position Overview

  

The AMP Usher / Ticket Taker / Greeter is a Part-Time Seasonal position running from April through October. This role is part of the Front of House Team and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for all patrons. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, greeting guests, scanning tickets, answering questions, and assisting with any concerns that may arise during events.


Most events begin between 4:30–5:00 PM and conclude by approximately 11:45 PM. There is a three-hour minimum call time, and many shifts range from 3 to 4 hours in length. Team members must be flexible and available to work both weekdays and weekends.


This position is based at an outdoor venue, and employees should expect exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and precipitation.

A positive, friendly, and professional attitude is essential in this role. AMP Ushers / Ticket Takers / Greeters are often the first and last point of contact for patrons and are responsible for helping ensure every guest has a great time at our venue. Being approachable, attentive, and dependable—while maintaining a calm and welcoming presence—is key to delivering an outstanding guest experience. Attitude is everything! 


Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  

  • Welcome patrons upon entrance
  • Check tickets and provide guidance to seats
  • Show patrons where to find exits, bathrooms, and concession stands
  • Ensure all patrons adhere to safety guidelines
  • Answer various patron questions
  • Handle suggestions & complaints politely & respectfully
  • Aid patrons with special needs
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patrons
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education, Training, Traits

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a position focusing on face-to-face customer service 
  •   Comfortable with consistently adhering to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to interact with many different types of people

  • Ability to work independently as well as with others to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Work Experience

  

  • Requires six months to one year of experience in a customer-facing role. Previous experience working in an amphitheater, arena, or stadium is a plus

Physical

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly
  • Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install basic applications and be willing to use it for work purposes
  • Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to endure standing or walking for extended periods of time on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces
  • Must be able to endure outdoor elements including cold, heat, wind, and/or precipitation
  • Must be able to work in large, crowded environments, with flashing lights, loud music and noises, pyrotechnics, and cannons as part of shows and events
