
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Fellow - Hospitalists, with the dyad supervision of the APP mentor and primary supervising physician and overarching leadership and guidance from the APP Director of Education and Professional Development, Vice President of Medical Education and APP Education Manager, performs as an integral member of the provider team, providing specialized patient care developed per fellowship program. Each program is designed to provide a comprehensive educational experience. Understanding the needs of the organization and supporting the mission, values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices, the fellow will engage in collaborative care with a multidisciplinary healthcare team for a broad range of health services. At the completion of the fellowship, the fellow will be able to demonstrate excellence in medical management and procedures. The Hospitalist Fellow will participate in a 12 month program that will provide enhanced training and skills to enrich the care of the patients. The fellow will be an integral member of the hospital team, providing direct high quality, evidence-based care within a diverse and complex health care environment under the dyad supervision of the APP mentor and primary supervising physician. With the overarching leadership and guidance of the Vice President of Medical Education and APP Education Manager, the fellow will have a comprehensive educational experience that will prosper advanced clinical knowledge and skill set for direct clinical care of the patient. The fellow will engage in collaborative care with a multidisciplinary healthcare team for a broad range of health services. At the completion of the fellowship, the fellow will be able to demonstrate excellence in management of patients. Basic Life Support Required within 6 months of hire. *This is a one-year position slated to start 10/12/26 with an annualized base salary of $86,715
