About this role

Overview

Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Updates knowledge, skills and applies appropriately. Maintains age-specific and other required competencies. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and supplies. Assists in training new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and evaluates their work. Performs other duties as assigned. Works both independently and as part of a team with general supervision/periodic review by supervisory staff. Experience performing moderate complexity testing such as urine microscopy and post-vasectomy sperm count preferred

American Society for Clinical Pathology Preferred National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Preferred
Education

Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Required - Or Certificate Completed NAACLS accredited program and recognized by the ASCP Board as qualifying for the MLT Required
Experience

2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory Preferred
