Gay Mechanical Controls & Integration is expanding and looking for a <strong>Senior HVAC Controls Technician</strong> who wants to <strong>own projects, solve complex problems, and be trusted as the technical lead in the field</strong>.<br><br> </div><div>If you’re an experienced BAS professional who’s tired of being micromanaged, underpaid, or stuck doing the same repetitive work, this role is designed for you.<br><br> </div><div> <strong>Why This Role Is Different<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li> <strong>Pay</strong>, based on experience and skills assessment</li> <li><strong>Company service vehicle with take-home use</strong></li> <li>Local work — no constant overnight travel</li> <li>Strong project management and engineering support</li> <li>Real autonomy in the field — you’re trusted to make decisions</li> <li>Manufacturer training and long-term career growth</li> <li>Stable workload backed by a respected mechanical contractor</li> </ul><div> <strong>Technology You’ll Work With<br></strong><br> </div><div>You’ll work hands-on with modern BAS platforms, including:<br><br> </div><ul> <li><strong>Tridium Niagara AX / N4</strong></li> <li><strong>Honeywell WEBs</strong></li> <li><strong>KMC Controls</strong></li> <li><strong>JCI FX</strong></li> </ul><div> <em>(Experience with all platforms is not required — strong proficiency in the industry is sufficient.)<br></em><br> </div><div> <strong>Your Role<br></strong><br> </div><div>As a Senior Controls Technician, you will serve as the <strong>technical lead</strong> on assigned projects, responsible for delivering high-quality BAS installations from start-up through turnover.<br><br> </div><div>Your responsibilities include:<br><br> </div><ul> <li>Field programming and system start-up</li> <li>Commissioning and functional testing under live and simulated conditions</li> <li>Verifying sequences of operation and system performance</li> <li>Graphics and front-end installation, testing, and client training</li> <li>Troubleshooting and making real-world programming adjustments</li> <li>Coordinating with project managers, technicians, and clients</li> <li>Producing clean documentation, as-builts, and checkout sheets</li> <li>Supporting warranty calls as needed</li> </ul><div>You’ll work with minimal supervision while having access to management and engineering support when needed.<br><br> </div><div> <strong>What Success Looks Like<br></strong><br> </div><div>Within your first few months, you’ll:<br><br> </div><ul> <li>Confidently start up and commission assigned BAS systems</li> <li>Identify and resolve field issues independently</li> <li>Deliver projects that meet or exceed sequence and performance expectations</li> <li>Build trust with PMs, clients, and fellow technicians</li> </ul><div> <strong>What We’re Looking For<br></strong><br> </div><ul> <li> <strong>5+ years of experience</strong> in HVAC/DDC/BAS controls</li> <li>Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies</li> <li>Proven experience programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting</li> <li>Ability to read wiring diagrams, control drawings, and sequences</li> <li>Professional, organized, and reliable on active construction sites</li> <li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record</li> </ul> </div>
