Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up medical records prior to resident admission

  • Monitor and audit records for completeness and accuracy per facility policies

  • Communicate documentation deficiencies to the Administrator and Director of Nursing Services

  • Provide required information to the business office for admissions

  • Process and mail correspondence to physicians

  • Manage medical records for transfers and discharges

  • Organize, file, and store medical records in compliance with regulations

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of medical information

  • Prepare reports, statistics, and records as directed

  • Audit records prior to interdisciplinary conferences to ensure accuracy

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting (preferred)

  • One year or more of experience in a similar role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and team members

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new software

  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and reference inquiry
