Job Summary

Volante Farms in Needham, MA is a place for all seasons. As a fourth-generation family run farm, farm stand, and garden center Volante Farms has over one hundred years in the community. In 2012, the farm stand was remodeled adding two kitchens, a deli, bakery, and an ice cream stand/coffee bar.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Logistics/Receiving Coordinator. This role is responsible for ensuring incoming shipments are processed accurately, safely, and on time while maintaining organized inventory and documentation, and working with the proper departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against packing slips and purchase orders

• Load and unload trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment

• Create merchandise displays with direction from internal departments

• Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records 

• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve shipping issues

• Inspect shipments for damage and report discrepancies or shortages

• Organize and maintain the shipping/receiving area, barns, and storage locations

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

• Assist with inventory counts as needed

• General errands/farm maintenance/cleaning

• Farm deliveries/pick ups

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles preferred

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping documentation

• Ability to read and interpret packing lists, and shipping labels

• Ability to lift and move packages and materials (up to 80 lbs)

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

• Ability to work within a matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift certification or experience operating material-handling equipment

• Experience with inventory management 

• Familiarity with common carriers and freight services
