Duties include preparing surfaces for optimal adhesion, applying specialty finishes, operating spray equipment, and supporting quality control throughout the refinishing process.

How success is defined:

 

  • Prepare lighting fixtures by cleaning, degreasing, and removing contaminants to ensure proper finish adhesion.
  • Apply specialty finishes such as leafing, patinas, and decorative coatings to achieve unique, high-end results.
  • Operate spray equipment and power tools to paint and refinish fixtures according to technical specifications.
  • Inspect products at each stage of the finishing process to confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray booths, tools, and equipment to ensure functionality and longevity.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and assist with other finishing tasks as needed.
  • Document work processes and report any issues or defects promptly to the supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Uphold company standards for craftsmanship, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
  • Exhibits and adheres to the established Visual Comfort Company Values.
  • Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule.  While being present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams.

 

What you will bring:

 

  • 1–3 years’ previous experience in painting, refinishing, or related production environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training in finishing or coatings preferred
  • Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating systems and programs related to production and quality control
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
  • Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings, and/or lighting industry a plus
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role

 

Compensation Range: $21.00 - $22.00 hour
