This position is responsible for collaborating with the finishing team to ensure lighting fixtures are refinished to the highest quality standards. Duties include preparing surfaces for optimal adhesion, applying specialty finishes, operating spray equipment, and supporting quality control throughout the refinishing process.

How success is defined:
- Prepare lighting fixtures by cleaning, degreasing, and removing contaminants to ensure proper finish adhesion.
- Apply specialty finishes such as leafing, patinas, and decorative coatings to achieve unique, high-end results.
- Operate spray equipment and power tools to paint and refinish fixtures according to technical specifications.
- Inspect products at each stage of the finishing process to confirm compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray booths, tools, and equipment to ensure functionality and longevity.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and assist with other finishing tasks as needed.
- Document work processes and report any issues or defects promptly to the supervisor.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Uphold company standards for craftsmanship, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems.
- Exhibits and adheres to the established Visual Comfort Company Values.
- Must demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule. While being present in the workplace to effectively collaborate and communicate amongst co-workers and teams.
What you will bring:
- 1–3 years’ previous experience in painting, refinishing, or related production environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training in finishing or coatings preferred
- Strong aptitude for and proficiency navigating systems and programs related to production and quality control
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Experience in interior design, custom home building products, luxury home furnishings, and/or lighting industry a plus
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
- Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
- Demonstrate exceptional communication across all contact channels, including email, chat and phone
- Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, late evenings
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for this role
Compensation Range: $21.00 - $22.00 hour
